I am extremely thankful to have received this scholarship. Since coming to college I have decided on my major, Construction Engineering and have been working on getting involved in clubs specific to my major. I am currently involved in Intramurals and the Iowa State Gymnastics Club. Additionally, I was on the dean's list last semester for having a 4.0 GPA and have obtained a paid internship for thissummer which not many freshmen are able to do, so I’m very excited for this opportunity. I will be working full-time for Koester Construction in Grimes as a Project Engineer Intern. I currently work part-time to help offset the cost of college as well. I work for the Ames Community School District and the Ames Community Preschool Center. I work at an elementary school nearby campus a couple afternoons a week to watchover and care for elementary school aged children. The campus holds a career fair each semester, so I had the opportunity to go to both of those (pictures included!). I feellike I've made the most out of my time at college so far and feel at home here. I appreciate your contribution towards that greatly! I’ll include some other non-academic related pictures as well. Just having some fun at sports games and withfriends! I just want to state once more that I couldn't be more thankful to be a recipient of this scholarship as it gave methe opportunity to begin the path towards career success and pursue further education. Best, Madeline Poock
